Unfolding of Truths

These last few months have been unimaginable and I never thought we would ever experience anything like this. It's like we have been cast in a movie without our permission. But I know with all my being it was something we all had to experience as a society to understand that the only thing that makes sense in this chaos is that learning how to love ourselves crucial. Since childhood, we’ve been programmed to see our lives through a narrow lens and we’ve inherently sought the outside world to validate or create our experiences. Yet underneath this facade, all we truly desire is love, to be seen, and to be heard.

In the midst of the protests and riots our nation is seeing the destruction and truths that are coming to light; unspoken truths manifest and bubble over in a way where not even words can begin to articulate how we feel inside. Martin Luther King Jr said it best “riots were the language of the unheard.”

Feelings of loss, anger, and frustration are showing us we have yet to learn this lesson - WE ARE ALL CONNECTED & UNIFIED. We have endured the polarization of this nation and have fed the beast for too long. It reminds me of the movie Moana - where the heart was taken from the ancestral line and turned it into a demonizing fearful island that sought to destroy everything that came in its wake. When in the end, all it wanted was its heart back - and when the heart was returned it was transformed back to its original wholeness of love and mother earth.

During this pandemic, mother earth has had an opportunity to recover from our human destruction we so easily ignore. We have all participated at one time or another. The pandemic in a strange but real way has also ignited this longing to connect to family and friends on a deeper level and to seek human connection. This was the "rude" awakening we all needed to realize that we have this incredible life and birthright to live an extraordinary life BUT we never wanted to listen to the whispers that were being called forth: LISTEN… we no longer can be in this energy - okay, you want to continue to dismiss this truth - let's now show you…

So the question is are we truly learning? How are we going to take action? How can we individually participate? We know that change can feel difficult for ourselves but also collectively. So in the end we have to start with ourselves first for this to truly take flight. Lives have been taken away from this earth and for us to go back to "normal" because normally we have outgrown. It has been easy to turn our cheek to the truth because let's face it would be a lot easier for us to be naive. Once you see the truth of the world that change is needed for us to connect, ground ourselves in love within to, therefore, love our neighbor is the only way. Or we will see history repeat itself in different forms as we have witnessed with George Floyd. We have been tested time and time again and continue to repeat because we would rather turn a blind eye because it's easier. What is being asked of us is to step into the uncomfortable truths and to take down all our walls and step into vulnerability. To give ourselves permission to no longer hide behind our privileges but to see that others around us are suffering and to pick each other up and spread love onto our neighbor. We are not being asked to justify our actions but rather LEARN, GROW, LOVE, and above all else LOVE again even when the going gets tough.

It is up to ALL of us to participate and take action that comes from a place of love, compassion, and empathy. That can only be truly done when we can practice that within ourselves. For if we don't start with our own inner work and understanding how can we expect others to do the same? This year hasn't been canceled but rather it's our rebirth. Our rebirth and awakening to see with our eyes, hearts, and soul what the divine has always made perfectly clear - LOVE CONCURS ALL. Not only in our humanity but how we treat our plant.

So how do we begin? Well, we start with our own inner work. Look at all the aspects of our being to show us where healing needs to take place. Because let's face it, even as adults we all are little kids carrying our trauma and pain. We’ve harbor those emotions and been told never to open that door. Instead, we run away from the doors and closets because we think that the truth is our undoing when in fact it’s the beginning to see clearly we are the authors of our lives. BUT that is where we need to start by opening all doors. It's like going into a house and doing a tour we want to see all aspects so we can see if we want to purchase. When it comes to our being it's like opening all doors of our own mind, body, soul, and seeing where the dust has been collected throughout our lifetime and give ourselves permission to see all that lives within us. It’s through this empowering process that we’ll be able to identify our truths, and leverage this knowledge to make the individual and collective changes that are long overdue.
